Whereas in normal 50% mother her average baby weight lay in between 6-8 pounds in weight in 26% and 3-5 pounds weight in 24% in normal weight mothers. The percentage of obese child birth is more in obese mother as compared to normal mother. The ratio of birth defects observed in obese mom children are only 2% and in normal mom babes it is up to 4% which shows that obesity may not the cause of birth defect in fetus.
