COMPOSITION OF ESSENTIAL OIL AND PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS OF THE ANTI-ULCEROGENIC HERB TEA

ABSTRACT
Anti-ulcerogenic herb tea essential oil and phenolics composition wereinvestigated by GC-MC and HPLC methods. The herb tea consists ofCalendula officinalis (flores), Plantago major (folia), Rosa (fruits),Crataegus (fruits), Coriandrum sativum (fruits), Gnaphaliumuliginosum (herb), Hippophae rhamnoides (fruits), Glycyrrhiza glabra(radices), Inula helenium (radices). Alantolactone, isoalantolactone forInula helenium radices, tetradecanic acid for Calendula officinalisflores, geranilacetate for Coriandrum sativum fruits were defined asthe specific substances. Gallic acid, catechin, ferulic acid, chlorogenicacid, caffeic acid, rutin were identified as the major phenoliccompounds in 70 % anti-ulcerogenic herb tea ethanolic extract by HPLC method.
