ABSTRACT
Depression refers to a feeling of lethargy and hopelessness that lasts for an extended period of time. Women are 70% more likely than men to experience depression – this is related in part to women more often seeking treatment, but also to hormonal changes that women experience throughout life. Women are five times more likely to suffer from postmenopausal depression if they experienced depression earlier in their lives. Being a burning problem it needs effective and safe treatment. Rajonivritti (Menopause) is a condition produced by degenerative changes in the twitting period between the active and inactive ovarian function and is being well managed by yoga, Medhya (brain tonic) drugs, Rasayana chikitsa (rejuvenation therapy) and Shirodhara.
