BIODIVERSITY OF MONKEY IN MAINPAT AREA SARGUJA DISTRICT, CHHATTISGARH IN INDIA

ABSTRACT
Field Survey was carried out in early morning and evening hours to Study the Biodiversity of Monkey in Mainpat area Sarguja District, Chhattisgarh in India from February to March in different forested and non forested regions in Mainpat area. Result indicate that the mainly two type of monkey species found in Mainpat area, Rhesus macaque and Gray langurs and there Rhesus macaques species are more populated than Gray langurs. Mainpat is dense forest area and in the forest of Mainpat monkeys are surviving there from long years ago. There’s climatic condition and environment is adaptable for them, so it is the main reason for being the more monkey populated area in Sarguja district.
