A SYSTEMIC REVIEW ON AMNESIA

ABSTRACT
Amnesia is defined as the total or partial loss of memory. Amnesic syndrome can be observed in several pathologies and its onset is progressive or sudden, transient or permanent. Neurotransmitter modification is an important method for the treatment of memory loss or amnesia. In light of the limited effectiveness and potential side effects of the current medications, there is increasing interest in using herbal medicine as an alternative or complementary therapy for amnesia. This paper enlightens on a systematic approach to study amnesia and also includes herbs and herbals promising in treatment for amnesic disorder.
