EXPLORING THE BIRDS OF BARNAWAPARA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY, BALODABAZAR DISTRICT, CHHATTISGARH

ABSTRACT
Birds are almost in every environment which is wildlife that is easily found. They are play in important role as pollination consumers of plant seed and predator of insect. In global biodiversity they are represent in bird which is important component of food chain. It is harbors wide variety of bird variation in food availability in different seasons affected the bird diversity in this area. Barnawapara was established in 1976, it covers an area of 245 sq.km. and includes plains, plateaus and hill of an altitude ranging between 265m. to 400m.This survey was the first approach to the wildlife sanctuary to prepare checklist of 20 species of 8 order viz. Copsychus saularis, Dicrurus paradiseus, Anastomus oscitans, Coracias benghalensis,
Egrettagarzetta, Ardeola groyii, Cinnyris asiaticus, Centropus sinensis, Amaurornis phoenicurus, Pavo cristatus, Passer domesticus, Aquila rapax, Dendrocitta vagabunda, Ardea intermedia, Dicrurus macrocercus, Zosterops palpebrosus, Acridothgeres tristis, Alcedo atthis, Phasianinae gallus and Phalacrocoracidae phalacrocorax. The density and abundance of 4 species of birds was high namely Copsychus saularis[Oriental magpie robin], Coracias benghalensis [Nilkanth], Pavo cristatus[Common Peafowl] and Pavo cristatus[Common Peafowl].
