THE BENEFIT OF USE OF ZINC SULPHAT AND THE INCIDENCE OF TRACHEOSTOMY IN BURN PATIENTS

ABSTRACT
This study performed in Baquba teaching hospital, Iraq. from the period of Ist July 2017 to 31th Jan. 2018. A data collected about 75 patient of different age and sex, and we choose the patient whose percentage of burn is below 50% of TBSA. We divide the patients into group A given zinc sulphate orally, and group B treated without zinc. Group A 40 patients and group B 35 patients. All admitted to burn unit. The most common causes of burn is flame 40 cases 53.4% and usually adult are affected. The 2nd common causes is scald 35 case 46.6% and usually affect the children. The mean hospital stay in group A is 9.5 days and in group B is 12 days. Burn of the neck occur in 34 case 45.3%, only one case tracheostomy done for him, and he is 10 years old.
