Dr. Pratibha Gopal Posam* and Dr. Anjali Satyen Sabnis
ABSTRACT
36 years old wife and 44 years old husband with the history of recurrent miscarriages were referred from obstetrician to genetic laboratory for chromosomal analysis to rule out any structural and or chromosomal aberration. Balanced reciprocal translocation was observed both in husband and wife. The chromosomes which are involved in translocation were different. Wife showed balanced translocation between 6 and 12 no chromosome while husband showed in chromosome no 5 and 11. Such combination of translocation in a couple is rare to see may be first time to see. Possible hypothesis may
justify the reason for recurrent miscarriages. Genetic counseling of the couple to find out good option at right time may reach up to happy and satisfied outcome.
