ABSTRACT
The full name of MRSA is meticillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus. You may have heard it called a superbug. Staphylococcus aureus (also known as staph) is a common type of bacteria. MRSA is caused by a certain kind of bacteria that does not die when treated with antibiotics. That means that if someone develops an infection, it is going to be very hard to fix it. There are a few reasons that this kind of bacteria developed the ability to live even when treated with antibiotics. The most common medicine used to treat MRSA is the antibiotic vancomycin that is given through an IV in the arm instead of in a pill. Minor skin infections may not require any treatment other than draining away any pus from the site of the infection.
Keywords: Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus, antibiotic resistant, Vancomycin.
