ABSTRACT
This study is an attempt to analyze the water quality of Seonath River
in Durg district. Water samples were collected from five different
locations during february -March, 2018. Due to heavy discharge of
municipal waste and anthropogenic activities in the river the
biological, chemical and physical characteristics of water have
changed to a considerable extent. The objectives of this study were to
find out the changes in physicochemical nature of river. Samples were
analyzed for total alkalinity of water samples by using the standard
method and procedure. The result shown that the minimum and
maximum value of total alkalinity of water was noted as 161mg/l and
449 mg/l respectively in first and fourth week of experiment.
Keywords: Seonath River, Municipal waste, Anthropogenic activities, Total alkalinity.
