ABSTRACT
Amlaki is highly used Drug in Ayurveda. It is a rich source of a
Vitamin-C. In present paper I have prepared its extract from the Amlaki
course powder from using the hydroalcholic solvent. (Methanol:
water). the ratio is equal. Vitamin-c is also known as the ascorbic acid.
So the Log P is calculated by the help of ascorbic acid. According to
OECD guideline the shake flask method is used for calculating the
LogP of Amlaki exctract. In this shake Flask method the biphasic
solvent were prepare by the help of Octanol and distilled water.
Octanol and distilled water is used because they show the similar
activity as our serum shown. The Ascorbic acid (Vitamin–c) standard
curve is prepared by the dilution with the distilled water. The ascorbic acid is easily dissolve
in water. it is hydrophilic in nature. THE Partition coefficient is very powerful tool for
characterising molecules present in the herbal drugs. The basic principle behind the partition
coefficient is Lipinski’s rule of 5 OF thumb predict drug-likeness. This is very useful tool to
measure the LogP, this is the partition coefficient between organic and inorganic phase. If the
Lipophilcity is higher than they are more absorbed by the body cell and the therapeutic
efficacy will be increase in the drug. Lipophilcity also represent the affinity of the molecules
towards its environment. It is measured by the biphasic system.one system should be organic
phase (non-polar) and other should be inorganic phase (polar).
Keywords: Partition coefficient, logP, Lipophilcity, Hydrophilic, biphasic system, searum.
