STANDARD OPERATING PROTOCOL FOR PREPARATION OF TRINSHATI PUTA NAGA BHASMA

ABSTRACT
Bhasma are one of the Unique preparation used in Ayurveda and has
been used as effective drugs from centuries. It have various Vernicular
names sisa, sisu, sisamu, usrup, plumbum, lead The synonms are Sisa,
Kutila, AhÃ, Pannaga, phani, kari, urga, Bhujana, kuvanga, paripishta.
Naga is very useful in treating Diabetes mellitus, Rheumatoid arthritis,
and good appetizer. In above article shodhana, jarana and marana is
done on the basis of classical literature. Shodhana is the process to
remove the toxic and chemical impurities. It is of two type samanya
shodhana and vishesha shodhana. The principle behind it is Bhavana,
Nirvapana, Dhalana, Nishechana, pachana and then marana is done
with the help of specific heat. The media used for bhavna process is fresh aloe vera juice. Till
date lot of review carried out on antidiabetic formulations of Naga Bhasma.According to
modern lead is bright and silvery metal when freshly cut but the surface rapidly tarnishes in
air to produce specific smell and it is dense and dull lustre, very soft, highly mallable, bluish
White metal. It is toxic in nature but after marana and small amount of dosage it work in
various alingement. The Medias used for shodhana are Tila taila, Kanji, takra, Kulattha
kawath, gomutra and Vishesha shodhana done in Churnodaka for three times. Naga marana is
done with help ghritakumari swarasa.There are number of formulation which are not in
market but suits the present health care scinario as per demand. On the basis of classicial
references it is an urgent need to conduct reserch on efficacy, safety of Naga Bhasma in
proper way.
