REVIEW ON SYZYGIUM CUMINI(L.)

ABSTRACT
Syzygium cumini(L.) commonly known as black plum or “jamun”
which belongs to Myrtaceae family is an important medicinal plant in
various traditional systems of medicine. Some studies were carries out
antidiabetic, hepatoprotective activity, antiinflammatory, antioxidant,
antiulcers, antidiarrhea and antimicrobial. The Syzygium cumini(L.)
containing anthocyanins, glucoside, ellagic acid, isoquercetin,
kaemferol and myrecetin. The present review focused on the
information on traditional and medicinal use of Syzygium cumini(L.).
