ABSTRACT
The UV spectrum is divided in to three regions. The UV-C region (220-280nm),UV-B region (280-320nm) and the UV-A region (320-400 nm). UV-B radiation is the most energetic component of sun light reaching the earth’s surface, and this has increased due to ozone depletion all of the most damaging UV-C radiation and most of the UV-B are filtered out by atmospheric ozone before it reaches the earth’s surface. In this study there are three groups of Vigna radiate plants may be used control, UV treated and Thiourea+ UV treated plants. The results suggests significant decrease in antioxidant enzymes like superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase and lipid
peroxidation. DNA fragmentation analysis was performed to evaluate our result, clearly suggests DNA breaks in UV treated plants when compared with untreated control. Ultra violet radiation induces deleterious effect of breaking DNA fragments. But Thiourea + UV treated plants DNA fragments is low amount of breaked. UV radiation affect in Vigna radiate plant protein also changed, it can be measured in a kilo Daltons it can be detected in a protein changes. This study showed that UV-B induced response plant is cured in oxidative damage used Thiourea is better antioxidant ability.
