ABSTRACT
Cancer and microbial infections still remains an important problem for researchers worldwide. Heterocyclic compounds have crucial role in our biological system. 4-Thiazolidinones are derivatives of thiazolidine with a carbonyl group in the 4th position and formed by the attack of sulphur nucleophile on imine carbon followed by intramolecular cyclisation with elimination of water. Substituents in the 2nd, 3rd and 5th positions may be varied. Due to its broad spectrum of biological activity, it can be further explored as a novel bioactive heterocyclic molecule. In this review article, we addressed the anticancer and antimicrobial potential of thiazolidin-4-one.
Keywords: Thiazolidin-4-one, Cancer, Anticancer, antimicrobial activity.
