ABSTRACT

Karshya is an Apatarpanjanya Vyadhi. It is included in the Ashtauninditiya Adhyaya. It is caused due to Upshoshit Rasadhatu. It is also called as Rasadoshaj Vikar. Atikrusha Purush is considered as Ninditiy Purush. Rukshaannapan, Langhan, Pramitashan etc are the main causative factors of Karshya. There is insufficient production of Rasa dhatu along with other dhatus chronologically, which leads to decrease in the body strength (Balahani) and causes Vata Roga. Shushkasphigaudargriva etc. are the main clinical features of Karshya. Study of Karshya is very important for the proper diagnosis and treatment of Karshya. As Atikrusha person is prone to develop Pleeha, arsha, kasa, udar, grahani etc diseases which may become life threatening at any time. So the purpose of my study is to provide a literary study for the management of Karshya.
