ABSTRACT
The purpose of the research work to develop a orodispersible tablets of fluoxetine hydrochloride offers pharmaceutical solutions pediatrics, geriatrics; psychiatric or mentally ill people and those have difficulty in swallowing in dosage forms is resulting improved patient compliance. Fluoxetine have become first line drug in the pharmacotherapy of patients with depression. This is because the drug possesses tolerability and safety advantages over the tricyclic agents. In the present study, fast dissolving tablets of fluoxetine hcl were prepared by direct compression method by using synthetic (crospovidone) and natural superdisintegrant ( Plantago ovata husk powder) at different concentrations as like a 2,4,6% w/w. overall each concentration we prepared three formulation that F1 to F8 and
evaluated pre and post compression parameters the percentage of drug release is F8 showed highest compare to other formulations because when the superdisintegrant ratio increased the percentage of drug release also more so it is concluded that formulation of oro dispersible Tablets of fluoxetine HCL containing 6% ispagula husk powder i.e. F8 batch can be taken as an optimized formulation of oro dispersible tablets for 94.93% release within 30 sec it effect of superdisintegrnts on formulations.
