STUDY ON BEHAVIORAL CHANGES AND TOXOPATHIC EFFECTS BY ESTRADIOL BENZOATE IN NON TARGET ORGANS OF RATS

ABSTRACT
In a study designed to identify the behavioral changes and toxopathic effects of estradiol benzoate under long term treatment in the non target organs of male and female rats, 1.5 month age for this reason 80 rats were taken and divided into 4 groups equally (10 males and 10 females, each group) received 0.002, 0.004, 0.008 mg/rat /day /S/C for 100 days, the 4th group taken sunflower seed oil as a control. Different behavioral changes were recorded, more evident in male than in female and after 10-14 days of injection. The behavioral changes were vigor, rough, finally become calm especially in toxic group. The most organ affected were kidneys. Pancreas, spleen, adrenal gland which showed different degenerative changes whereas, liver, gastrointestinal tract, brain were not affected.
