ABSTRACT
The aim of present study was to characterize the presence of
biologically active phytochemical constituents of Curcuma caulina J.
Grahm methanolic rhizome extracts by using High Resolution Liquid
Chromatography - Mass Spectroscopy (HRLC-MS) technique. The
mass spectra of compounds found in the extract was matched with
Metlin database library, results confirmed the presence of
therapeutically potent chemical compounds in C. caulina rhizome
extract. The metabolites analysis by ESI-Q-TOF-MS revealed the
presence of 14 major abundant compounds namely Phe Tyr Lys,
1alpha,25-dihydroxy-26,27-dimethyl-20,21,22,22,23,23-hexadehydro-
24a- homovitamin D3 /1alpha,25- dihy, Tolperisone, Ala Ile Ile,
Punctaporin B, beta-vinyl acrylic acid, Rotoveratrine A, (25R)-26,26,26-trifluoro-1alpha,25-
dihydroxyvitaminD3/(25R)-26,26,26 trifluoro-1alpha,25-dihydrox, alpha-
Aminodiphenylacetic acid, Madecassic acid, Levonorgestrel oxime, 1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin
D3 3- glycoside, Neoxanthin and Pancuronium.
