Abstract

EVALUATION OF APHRODISIAC ACTIVITY OF MARKETED AYURVEDIC FORMULATIONS IN EXPERIMENTAL MODELS ON MALE ALBINO WISTAR RATS

ABSTRACT

Aphrodisiac agents are used to treat the impaired sexual functions of human beings. Large numbers of sexual function improving drugs are available in market. Many synthetic as well as Ayurvedic formulations are used to treat the sexual dysfunction. Vita-Ex and Stay-on are examples of the Ayurvedic formulations, which are used in this study to determine their activity in Albino Wistar Rats. From the research of the above mentioned formulations with comparison to the standard drug (Sildenafil) it is concluded that the Ayurvedic formulations are capable of producing aphrodisiac activity.
