ROLE OF ASANA & PRANAYAMA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF CERVICAL SPODYLOSIS

ABSTRACT
Today is the era of modernization and fast life. Everybody is busy and
living stressful life. Changing of life style of modern human being has
created several disharmonies in his biological system. Advancement of
busy, professional and social life, improper sitting posture in offices,
continuous work in one posture and over exertion, jerking movements
during travelling and sports–all these factors create undue pressure and
stress injury to the spine and play an important role in producing
disease like cervical spondylosis. Faulty dietetic habits and irregular
life style is responsible for early degenerative changes in bodily tissue
and play a vital role in the manifestation of such degenerative disorder. In this way, this
disease is now becoming a significant threat to the working population. There is no as such
effective allopathic medicines are available to cure cervical spondylosis and neck pain but
some easy yoga asanas and simple exercises can play a vital role in managing and treating of
cervical spondylosis and neck pain.
