ABSTRACT
A simple, rapid and precise reverse phase liquid chromatographic (RP-HPLC) method was developed and subsequently validated for simultaneous estimation of Donepezil and Memantine in bulk drug and in a synthetic mixture. The analysis was carried out using INERTSIL ODS C18 (4.6 x 150mm, 5μm), pre-packed column. The separation was carried out using a mobile phase containing a buffer of pH 4.5, sodium dihydrogen phosphate and Acetonitrile (30:70 v/v), was pumped at a flow rate of 1.0 ml/min with UV-detection at 277 nm.
Both the drugs were well resolved on the stationary phase and the retention times were around 2.697 minute for Donepezil and 4.815 minute for Memantine. The method was validated and shown to be linear for Donepezil and Memantine. The correlation coefficients for Donepezil and Memantine are 0.998 and 0.999 respectively.
