Abstract

TARGETING ALOPECIA WITH TOPICAL NANOCARRIERS

ABSTRACT

Hairs play a significant role in individual’s body in their cosmetic world. Many researches are on the way for various hair care products. Topical nanocarriers are the upcoming preparations in the market for targeting the unique hair problems like alopecia, dandruff etc. These nanocarriers when engaged into hair care, acts by enhance the ability of active ingredients at target site in improving hair morphology and scalp treatment. There are many drugs available as orally and topically used for the treatment of alopecia and its types. Among which, minoxidil application (2 and 5 percent) is the only topical therapy with FDA’s approval for the treatment of alopecia and its types. Now-a-days, topical nanoemulgel is the novel upcoming nanoformulation for targeting the alopecia in future, which acts by prolonging drug action, better penetrability and efficacy at the site of application. This review enlightens the overview of different nanocarriers that can also employ to improve the appearance of hair by topical application.
