ABSTRACT
Spicy food and psychological stress are the main causative factor for
the pathogenesis of peptic ulcer. The cigarette smoking, analgesic,

factor. If the treatment of peptic ulcer is ignored that it will creates
complications like obstruction haemorrhage leading to haemoptysis,
haematemesis, and perforation with acute peritonitis, fainting and
shock. Laghusutashekhara rasa (low dose), laghusutashekhararasa(high
dose),omeprazole, distilled water formed the drug materials and Male
Wister strain Albino-rats are taken for the study.
Indomethacininduceulcer module has been followed. The
laghusutashekhara rasa with low dosei.e, 4.5 mg in group II exhibited
mean ulcer index of 1.50.51 which is comparable with that of omeprazole (1.30.61). The
laghusutashekhara rasa with 9 mg exhibited mean ulcer index of 0.330.21 which is very less
to that of omeprazole(1.30.61) and control and proved its highly significant antiulcer
activity than standard drug.
