ABSTRACT
In the present work, it was studied that methanolic extracts of Plumeria
acuminata possess immunomodulatory activity. The dried stem bark
was extracted with methanol for active constituents. Then that extracts
were administered to the experimental animals using standard methods
viz. the haemagglutinating antibody titre was used to assess humoral
immune response and Carbon clearance test have shown to be exhibit
significant immunomodulatory activity. We evaluated delayed type
hypersensitivity by the difference between the pre and post challenge
footpad thickness. The data were analyzed and obtained values at a
dose of 300mg/kg body weight when compared to that of the standard
drug, showed the extract to be immunomodulant drug.
