ABSTRACT
The Inflammation is a common health problem in worldwide due increase in pollution. In the present study a series of new imidazole compounds (BCP1, BCP2, BCP3, and BCP4) were synthesized and were screened for their anti-inflammatory activity by using the model of carrageenan induced mice paw edema in adult albino rat on comparison with standard diclofBCP1 having 65.38% percentage protection of edema followed by compound BCP 3 (60.25 %), BCP4 (50 %) & BCP2 (39.74%) anti-inflammatory potential.. The compound BCP1 showed more percentage protection of edema than that of standard drug Diclofenac sodium. It has been found that the extent of increase in paw volume reduces significantly up to 3 hrs when compared with solvent control.
Keywords: Anti-inflammatory activity, Carrageenan induced mice paw edema, Diclofenac, Imidazole.
