ABSTRACT

Multi-drug resistance of organisms have led to the increased use of polymyxinantibiotics especially for gram negative bacteria.Colistin has been used at the end stage in many serious septicemias but has many factors limiting its use.Polymyxin B is also a polymyxin class of antibiotic with less lime light in the current clinical setup.This review article highlights the pharmacokinetics,significant advancements in use,dosing and advantages of Polymyxin B.
