ABSTRACT

The leaves of Azadirachta Indica Linn is regarded as „sarvaroga nivarini' plant commonly used in traditional medicine by many Asian and Middle Eastern Countries to treat antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer and many other diseases. This leaves extracts are found to have antioxidant and anticancer activities. Liminoidsis the principle compound which is responsible for all its beneficial effects. The aim of our study is to analyse the biological effect of Azadirachta Indica L. in Lungs cancer A549 cell line. We found methanol extracts of Azadirachta Indica L. leaves contains phytochemical compounds having more free radical scavenging as well as anticancer activities.
