DISABILITY LIMITATION AND REHABILITATION AS AN INTERVENTIONAL MODE
*Dr. Smita Vinod Zambare
ABSTRACT
Disability is the disadvantage for a given individual that prevents him/her fulfillment of a role that should be otherwise normal for that individual. It may be a result of communicable diseases, malnutrition, low quality of prenatal care and accidents. There are always possibilities to overcome this disadvantage to the individual to some extent, by means of intervention and rehabilitation in disability. The intervention in disability will often be social or environmental as well as medical. While impairment being the earlier stage can be intervened by medical care and treatment, disability that is the later stage can be restricted by social and environmental care and support in terms of dependence and social cost.
