ABSTRACT
Limnological studies of Upper Lake Bhopal were carried out during November 2010 to October 2012. The present study deals with physico –chemical parameters such as, air temperature, water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, total alkalinity and electrical conductivity. The minimum and maximum range of physico –chemical parameters were as, air temperature 22-37.60C from site 1 in the winter season and summer season respectively, water temperature 20-30.30C from site 1 in the winter season and summer season respectively, pH 7.0-8.6 units from site 2 in monsoon season and from site 1in summer season respectively, dissolved oxygen 3.0-8.2mg/l from site 2 in post-
monsoon season and from site 1 in monsoon season respectively, minimum free carbon dioxide 0.0mg/l from site 1 and site 2 in winter, post monsoon, monsoon and summer season respectively and maximum (8.0mg/l) from site 2 in post-monsoon season, minimum total alkalinity 38mg/l from site 2 in winter season and maximum 87mg/l from site 1 in summer season and minimum electrical conductivity 165mg/l from site 2 in monsoon season and maximum 270mg/l from site 1 in post monsoon season and it is concluded that variation in the parameters are due to the various season and sewage coming from the catchment areas.
