ABSTRACT
A simple sensitive and precise colorimetric method (method A) and FTIR spectroscopic method (method B) were developed for the estimation of teneligliptin in bulk drug as well as in pharmaceutical dosage form. Method A is based on the formation of an orange coloured complex of teneligliptin with 1, 10-phenanthroline in the presence of ferric chloride, which has absorption maximum at 424nm. Method B is based on rapid FTIR spectroscopy involving the measurement of the area of the infrared band corresponding to the C=O stretching centered at 1645cm-1. The proposed methods are statistically validated and found to be useful for the routine determination of teneligliptin in tablets.
