A CONTROL COMPARATIVE STUDY ON ASHVAGANDHA GRANULES AND PRINAN MODAK IN THE MANAGEMENT OF KARSHYA (UNDER WEIGHT)

ABSTRACT
Malnutrition can be clinically compared with condition Karshya, which is considered as one among the Kuposhanajanya Vyadhi. Karshya is a clinical entity presented with features like shushka sphik, udara and greeva, dhamani jala santata, twagasthi shesha with sthoola parva. This condition is more in childhood period due to lake of food or changing in life style. The present article deals with the study on karshya and compare the efficacy of Ashvagandha Granules and Prinan Modaka. Total 30 patients (2 to 10 years) were registered and randomly divided in two groups. In Group A Ashvagandha Granules and in Group B Prinan Modaka given for 90 days with cow‟s milk. At the end of study it showed that Ashvagandha granules showed
better results than Prinan Modak.
