ABSTRACT

In the present study Quercetin estimate by using Aqueous, Methanolic & Ethanolic Fruit extract of Neolamarckia cadamba and evaluated their antioxidant activity using free radical scavenging activity, Reducing power and Nitric oxide activity. Ascorbic acid and quercetin were used as reference standards. The spectroscopic result for estimation of flavonoid revealed that the Methanolic extract of, Neolamakcia cadamba, which hold maximum amount of flavonoid. A simple and fast method was developed for quantitative determination of quercetin in different extracts using high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC). The solvent system toluene: ethyl acetate: formic acid, 5: 4: 0.2 (v/v/v), gives good separation and densitometry determination was carried out at 380 nm in absorbance mode. The Rf value of standard Quercetin was found to be 0.43 and peak area 1244.11. Then concentration of 10μl, 40μl for methanolic extract Neolamarkcia cadamba, used for the analysis the best results are shown in the 40μl solution, determine the presence of Quercetin. In present experiment, we conceded out a systematic record on the Methanolic extracts of Neolamakcia cadamba, have relative free radical scavenging activity.

Keywords: Neolamakcia cadamba Fruits, flavonoid, Quercetin, ascorbic acid, antioxidant Activity.
