ABSTRACT
A novel series of Benzthiazolo pyrazolo quinoxaline derivatives 6(a-e) have been synthesized and evaluated for anti-microbial activity by creating a new molecular frame work. Five new compounds were synthesized by treating chalcone 5(a-e), with benzoic acid hydrazide to yield Benzthiazolo pyrazolo quinoxaline compounds 6(a-e), by utilizing microwave energy. The structures of these newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by their spectral data and elemental analysis. These compounds have been screened for their anti-microbial activity. Towards all tested organisms compounds 6c, 6d and 6a give a significant anti bacterial activity, when compared with that of standard drug ampicillin. Also 6c, 6d and 6e compounds show moderate degree of anti fungal activity when compared with fluconazole.
Keywords: anti microbial activity, benzthiazolo pyrazolo quinoxaline erivatives, benzoic acid, fluconazole, chalcone.
