ABSTRACT
Trigonella foenum-graceum Linn. (methi) is an ancient plant has been used throughout the world as medicine, food and spice. The present study was carried out with the extraction of dried leaves of methi using 70% ethanol by maceration process. The phytochemical screening was performed to identify the phytoconstituents and revealed the presence of alkaloids, tannins, flavonoids and terpenoids. The solid dosage form, tablets were prepared using starch as binder and disintegrant, MCC as diluents and talc as a lubricant. The tablets were further evaluated for physical parameters such as weight variation test, hardness, friability and disintegration time. The antioxidant activity was evaluated using DPPH free radical scavenging assay and was found to have significant antioxidant activity.
