LYCOPENE IN ASTHMA: A CLINICAL ASSESSMENT

ABSTRACT
Asthma prevalance increased from 7.3% in 2001 to 8.4% in 2010. In
2010, an estimated 25.7 million people had asthma. The objective of
the study is to bring out the details of Lycopene drug that downs the
asthma symptoms and minimal the asthma symptoms that occur
frequently by studying the safety & efficacy of Lycopene in treatment
of mild to moderate asthma through open label prospective study
which is a study design taking 54 Patients of either sex aged between 2
– 12 yrs with mild to moderate asthma and from the results Results
showed a significant decrease in AEC, ESR and TRACK
Questionnaire scores. No adverse events were reported either during or
after the study.
