kapha pradhana tridoshaja vyadhi & Paneeya Kshara is indicated in the
same by Acharya Sushruta. Hence, it as hypothesized that oral use of
Kalyana Kshara, mentioned by Ashtanga Hridaya, may be beneficial in
treating Mutrashmari. This case study shows that Kalyana Kshara is
effective in the management of Mutrashmari along with strict Pathya-
Apathya sevana (Dietary regimen) and alteration in the life-style in
context of expulsion of Ashmari. It possesses Lekhana (Scrapping),
Bhedana (Disintegration), Vatanulomana, Vatashamaka (Analgesic),
Mootrala (Diuretic) and Ashmari-bhedana (Lithotriptic) properties. As
per Ayurvedic treatise, Kshara is Tridoshaghna in nature playing key role in the Samprapti-
