Abstract

SYNTHESIS OF SOME NOVEL AZO COMPOUNDS

ABSTRACT

Azo compounds have great importance in dye, textiles, fiber industries. In the present study, some azo compounds were synthesized in excellent yield by diazotization of some substituted aromatic amines using NaNO2 and concentrated HCl followed by coupling with 2- hydroxy acetophenone. The synthesized azo compounds were characterized by FTIR technique.
