METHOD DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION FOR THE ESTIMATION OF OFLOXACIN AND NITAZOXANIDE PRESENT IN BULK & TABLET BY SIMULTANEOUS EQUATION METHOD USING UV-SPECTROPHOTOMETRY

ABSTRACT
Ofloxacin and Nitazoxanide are estimated simultaneously in bulk and
tablets by U.V spectrophotometric Simultaneous equation method.
This method employs simultaneous equation for analysis, using
Sodium hydroxide as solvent. The two wavelengths 288.88 nm (λmax of
ofloxacin) and 227.99 (λmax of Nitazoxanide) were selected for
simultaneous equation. Linearity was observed in the concentration of
0.3-0.9 μg/ml for Ofloxacin and0.3-0.9 μg/ml for Nitazoxanide.
Statistical analysis and recovery studies validated the method. This
method utilised three groups of samples and two sampling wavelengths
as 288.88 nm and 227.99 nm. Standard solutions of three group
samples of both the drugs were prepared and concentrations were determined.
