ABSTRACT
3-(4-(5-methyl-2-thioxo-1,3,4-oxadiazol-3(2H)-ylsulfonyl)phenyl)-2-
phenylthiazolidin-4-one (1) on reaction with aromatic aldehydes yield
5-(substitutedmethylene)-3-(4-(5-methyl-2-thioxo-1,3,4-oxadiazol-
3(2H)-ylsulfonyl)phenyl)-2-phenylthiazolidin-4-one (2a-h). Further
compounds 2a-h reacted with phenylhydrazine gives targeted
compounds i.e. 3-(4-(3-substituted-5-phenyl-2-(phenylamino)-3,3adihydro-
2H-pyrazolo[3,4-d]thiazol-6(5H)-yl)phenylsulfonyl)-5-
methyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2(3H)-thione (3a-h). The final compounds
were characterized using CHN, IR and NMR analysis. The biological
evaluation revealed that the all compounds shows good to moderate biological activity
against employed bacterial and fungal strains.
Keywords: 1,3,4-Oxadiazole, Oxadiazolo-Sulfonyl-Thiazolidinones, Spectroscopic analysis, Antibacterial activity, Antifungal activity.
