COMPARATIVE STUDY OF DICLOFENAC AND DICLOFENAC WITH MEFANAMIC ACID IN OSTEOARTHRITIS PATIENTS

ABSTRACT
The Prospective observational study was conducted with aim of
compare the effect of diclofenac and diclofenac with mefanamic acid
in arthritis patient. The 6 months duration study was with 100 patients
and were selected randomly as per the inclusion criteria. The reduction
in pain was measured at baseline, 2, 4 and 6 months by using Visual
analogue scale (VAS) method. The pain was reduced high in
Diclofenac with mefanamic acid than Diclofenac alone. Epigastric pain
was the major adverse drug reaction in 30% in combination therapy.
The efficacy, tolerability and remarkable reduction of pain and
stiffness are found with Diclofenac with mefanamic acid.
