Harshada Patil*, Sulbha Patil and Dr. Sunil Pawar
ABSTRACT
This research work investigates enhancement of the solubility of albendazole by solid dispersion technique. A phase solubility study was used to evaluate the effect of various soluble polymers on aqueous solubility of Albendazole. The polymers used were Polyethylene glycol (PEG 6000), Hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose (HPMC E4) and solid dispersions were prepared by hot melt method and Kneding method. The prepared solid dispersions were characterized by Fourier transform spectroscopy (FTIR), to identify the physicochemical interaction between drug and polymers. The dissolution studies of solid dispersion were performed by using USP II apparatus (paddle type). Albendazole is a Anthelmintic drugnresistance has led to alternatives in controlling
helminth infections.
Keywords: Solid dispersion, Albendazolel, HPMC E4, PEG6000 and Solubility enhancement.
