ABSTRACT
The aim of the study is to establish the HPTLC fingerprint profile of 70% Hydroethanolic roots extract of Echinops echinatus. The solvent system selected for HPTLC was Toluene:Ethyl Acetate:Methanol (7:2:1) v/v, stationary phase was precoated aluminium plate of silica gel 60 F254 (10X10cm) with 0.2mm thickness. The separated bands on the HPTLC plates were scanned under UV at 254nm, 366nm and visible 580nm(Iodine vapours). HPTLC fingerprinting analysis of the 70% Hydroethanolic roots extract of Echinops echinatus showed the presence of possible number of components.
