Abstract

PHYSICO CHEMICAL EVALUATION OF ANU TAILA: AN AYURVEDIC OIL BASED MEDICINE

ABSTRACT

Anu Taila (AT) is one of the best medicines described for Nasya Karma in various classics. Anutaila Nasya has wide indications including preserving the health of sense organs. Anutaila consists of a 27 ingredients and the Dravadravyas used are Varshajala, Tilataila and Ajadugdha. For the standardization of the finished products, it is essential to analyze the prepared drugs so that quality of the product can be established. In the present study prepared Anu taila was analyzed for the physical and chemical parameters viz. Specific gravity, Acid Value, Refractive index, Iodine Value, Saponification value and HPTLC.
