ABSTRACT
A series of novel indole derivatives 1-((2-substituted phenyl-1H-indol-
3-yl)methylene)-2-(substituted thiazol-2-yl)hydrazide (7a-h), 3-(4-
substituted phenyl thiazol-2-ylamino)-2-(2-substituted phenyl-1Hindol-
3-yl)thiazolidin-4-one (8a-h) and 1-(4-substituted phenyl thiazol-
2-ylamino)-3-chloro-4-(2-substitutedphenyl-1H-indol-3-yl)azetidin-
2one (9a-h) were prepared. The newly synthesized compounds have
been characterized by their IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral studies.
And were screened for their antioxidant and antimicrobial activity.
Some of the compounds were found to be equipotent or potent than
commercial drugs as evident from results.
Keywords: Indole, thiazole, azitidine, antioxidant, antimicrobial activity.
