ABSTRACT
This study was conducted on 200 one day old chick which were divided
into 4 groups. Group (1): Fifty chicks were served as non infected non
treated group which administered saline only. Group (2): Fifty chicks
of 25 days age were infected with isolate of Mycoplasma gallisepticum
and served as infected non treated group. Group (3): Fifty chicks of 25
days age were non infected and treated with tiamulin (25 mg/kg B.Wt.
orally for 5 days). Group (4): Fifty chicks of 25 days age were infected
with isolate of Mycoplasma gallisepticum and administered (25mg/kg
B.Wt. orally for 5 days). Blood samples were taken at the end of zero
day(20 days age), 10th day and 15th post- treatment in all groups. Blood
samples were taken from each group for biochemical studies. The
treated chicks were sacrificed at zero, 10 days and 15 days post
treatment. The effect of tiamulin (25 mg /kg body weight orally for five successive days) on
biochemical parameters of healthy and experimentally infected chickens with Mycoplasama
gallisepticum showed a significant increase in serum total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, indirect
bilirubin, AST, ALT, ALP, total protein and albumin, a significant decrease in uric acid and
creatinine and return to its normal level at 15 days post treatment.
