AN OPTIMIZED ONE-STEP ANODIC ACETOXYLATION OF BENZENE TO PHENYL ACETATE

ABSTRACT
An optimized process was developed for the synthesis of phenyl
acetate from benzene. In this process the trifluoro phenyl acetate was
also synthesized at best optimum condition from benzene. The
electrolysis was conducted with Pt/Zn, such as anode/cathode in an
undivided cell. The electrolysis was conducted in aqueous medium and
non-aqueous solvent with suitable supporting electrolyte. Various
optimization studies were carried out in order to attain the better yield.
