ABSTRACT
A total of 12 lactating cows between the 1st and 3rd lactation were selected for the purpose of study and allotted into two groups, group T0 and group T1. Group T0 was kept as control. A pre- treatment period of 0-15th day was observed for both the groups. Group T1 was treated with herbal antistressor and rejuvenator Restobal (M/S Ayurvet Ltd) @50 ml/ day bid along with the normal basal diet from 16th to 35th day. A post treatment period of 10 days i.e. from 36th day to 45th day was also observed for both the groups. Parameters such as milk yield, average feed intake, fat%, SNF% and thermal humidity index were
recorded. Results revealed that there was significant increase in milk yield in group T1 by 23.65% during the treatment period as compared to the pre treatment period. A sustainable milk yield was also obtained during the post treatment period in group T1. The fat % and SNF % varied non significantly between the groups. Thus, supplementation of herbal antistressor & immunomodulator formulation to lactating cows during summer stress was helpful in sustenance of milk yield and improving the qualitative parameters of milk.
