ABSTRACT
The first describe association between spondylodiscitis and endocarditis was reported in 1965 by de Sèze et al., since then, many case reports and series have been published. The most common clinical picture of this association is musculoskeletal symptoms preceding endocarditis diagnosis. We report here a case of spondylodiscitis revealing infectious endocarditis. A 51-year-old woman without medical history was hospitalized with a case of continuous high fever and intensive backache. On examination day herfeverwas of 39°C and she expressedtenderness in the two lower lumbar vertebras with rigid parasternal muscles. Spondylodiscitis was confirmed by CT lumbar
scan with CT Guided Biopsy which identified a streptococcus α hemolytic. A diagnosis of mitral valve endocarditis caused by streptococcus was established.
