ABSTRACT
Background: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of trigonella foenum-graecum and azadirachta indica as an add-on treatment in management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Method: A total of 120 type 2 diabetic patients will be recruited from the outpatient of Diabetes Care & Research Centre, S.P.Medical College, Bikaner. The patient will be advised to follow a strict diet and exercise for one month. During this period, frequent self monitoring of blood sugar will be done to maintain euglycemic level. After one month of stabilization period 120 patients will be selected from those 90 patients having blood sugar level 126-250 mg/dl. Then these selected 120 patients will be randomly divided into three groups: Group 1 (n=30), Group 2 (n=30) and Group 3 (n=30). Results: At baseline both the groups were similar in anthropometric and clinical variables. There was a significant difference observed between the two groups at end of three months regarding fasting blood sugar (in Methi 180.90 ±71.62 mg/dl vs 136.84 ±36.62 mg/dl and in Neem 201.02 ± 68.73mg/dl vs 172.86 ± 55.58 mg/dl; P=
